Banana & Cinnamon Smoothie

I have decided to go back to basics for breakfast as the past few months has seen me gain back some of the weight that I lost since having my second child.

It doesn't help when I am making so many desserts and yummy foods to share with you. Even though they are healthy, it's easy to eat too much, which can lead to weight gain. I have also been a bit slack in the exercise department, which didn't help my case either!

So, I decided to go back to how I used to eat when I started losing weight. One of my regular go-to breakfast meals was this Banana & Cinnamon Smoothie. It is really easy to make, extremely tasty and I feel quite full until lunch time, meaning that I am less likely to snack throughout the day. Since re-introducing them (along with green smoothies, and being judicious with those delicious desserts), I have dropped a few kilos and am feeling much better in my clothes.

Banana & Cinnamon Smoothie

Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons almond meal
  • 1 teaspoon coconut sugar (raw honey or maple syrup would also work)
  • Ice, 4 - 6 cubes

Method

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until nice and creamy.
  2. Serve immediately.
