Spicy Seed & Nut Mix

I am currently taking part in Alice Nicholls's Life Transformation Project (check out Alice's site here). Part of the project includes yummy recipes to make, that heal and cleanse the body. One of the recipes is a toasted spicy seed nut mix. I didn't have the all the ingredients for the actual spice mix, so I decided to make up my own version.

Spicy Seed & Nut Mix

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mixed raw nuts (you can use whatever raw nuts you like)
  • 1 cup pepitas
  • 1/3 cup sesame seeds
  • 1/3 cup pine nuts
  • 1/3 sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon celtic sea salt
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil

Method

  1. Preheat oven on 180 degrees celcius fan forced
  2. Line baking tray with baking paper
  3. Place nuts, seeds, spices and oil in a bowl and mix thoroughly
  4. Place on the baking tray and bake in oven for 20 minutes
  5. Enjoy either warm or at room temperature

Note: You can can store them in an airtight container for up to 1 week
